Dental Bridges from Perth’s Most Trusted Dentists
Used to replace missing teeth, whether from decay, damage, or any other reason, dental bridges can restore your smile to its best. If you opt for a dental bridge, you cannot only expect a better smile but also purposeful improvements such as chewing, speech, and overall oral health.
What is a dental bridge?
A dental bridge is made by attaching crowns to false teeth, which are then fitted to your mouth and fused onto your existing teeth. We always recommend that if you have missing teeth, you contact your dentist immediately, as replacing them will positively contribute to the overall health of your mouth.
If you have any existing conditions, such as gum disease, they will have to be treated before a dental bridge can be fitted. Gum disease must be treated as soon as possible, as it may otherwise affect your chances of having restorative dentistry treatments.
Fitting a dental bridge
If you need a dental bridge, our dentists will assess your oral health first. The next stage involves taking impressions or digital images of your teeth. Meanwhile, the teeth between which the bridge will be placed will also be prepared, and a temporary bridge will be fitted. Once we get the impression back from the lab, we’ll remove this and replace it with your permanent bridge.
Once you have your dental bridge in place, we’ll advise you on how best to look after it. With good oral hygiene, bridges can last for 10 to 15 years. We’ll be with you every step of the way to ensure the best results from all treatments.
