Initial dental appointments – what to expect
When you first come to Aim Dental Group for an appointment – whether it’s in Woodvale, Maddington or Merredin – our dentist will carry out a full oral assessment. This will establish your present oral health and will help them identify any obvious problems that may require treatment.

An oral cancer screening will also be carried out, and intra-oral cameras used in the examination, as standard. Your dentist will discuss these findings with you, keeping you fully informed and explaining the rationale for any recommended action. If treatment is required, this will be agreed with you according to your specific needs and wishes, taking into consideration your personal dental goals to create a bespoke dental care plan.
All fees will be explained in advance, and we can discuss any concerns you might have at this stage. This will allow us to better plan for any treatment scenarios, so that you’re at ease during all processes, and will remove the mystery and fear that can surround the unknown.
As a result of this discussion, we can also determine if you will require sleep dentistry (sedation), relaxation music or the use of personal DVDs during treatment, which can be used to relax anxious patients.

To ensure quality care at every stage, we’ll gather the relevant contact information from you by phone when you first call to book your appointment.
We will also check this at your appointment, to ensure we have all the details we need, including:
• Contact details
• Information on your general health (past and present)
• Your dental history
We also ask that you bring the following information with you to your dental appointment:
• Medical documents that refer to any medication or treatment you are receiving and any issues that are affecting your health
• Your Health Insurance Card (you should bring this to every dental appointment)
• A bank card or the appropriate amount of cash (we require this at every visit as payment is always made on the day of the appointment)
